The questions our team answers most often.
Reading and listening tasks are marked against the answer key using the published PTE rules - one mark per correct blank, negative marking on multiple-answer questions, one mark per correctly ordered adjacent pair, and so on. Writing is scored by a rule-based engine that measures form, spelling, mechanics, lexical variety and how much of the prompt you covered. Speaking is measured from your recording: words per minute, hesitation count and overlap with the reference text. Every raw score is then mapped onto the 10-90 scale through a single published table.
Not identical, and we label it clearly wherever it appears. The real exam uses a trained acoustic model that scores pronunciation at the phoneme level. Our analysis measures pace, pausing, speech continuity and word overlap with the reference text, which tracks fluency closely but is a proxy for pronunciation. Treat it as a reliable guide to your fluency and content, not a guarantee of the exact pronunciation sub-score.
PTE Academic is for university admission and most skilled migration routes. PTE Academic UKVI is the same test taken under UK Home Office secure conditions, required for certain UK visas. PTE Core is for Canadian economic immigration and tests everyday rather than academic English, replacing the essay with a workplace email task. Set your exam in your profile and the practice hub filters itself to the tasks you will actually sit.
Yes. Any built-in laptop microphone or headset works. Your browser will ask for permission the first time you open a speaking task, and the recording stays on your own machine until you submit it. On Chrome and Edge the browser also produces a live transcript, which unlocks the content and pace analysis.
Practice attempts reset at midnight in your local time zone, so a free account gets its full daily allowance back every day. Nothing you have already done is taken away - your history, scores and analytics stay. If you want to keep going the same day, Premium removes the cap.
No. You buy a block of 10, 30, 60 or 90 days and it ends on the day it ends. There is no stored card and no automatic renewal, which is why the durations line up with typical exam preparation windows rather than calendar months.
Yes, as many times as your plan allows. Every attempt is stored separately, so your analytics show whether the second attempt actually improved on the first rather than replacing it.
The predicted score is the average of your module scores across your recent attempts, on the same 10-90 scale. It becomes meaningful once you have attempted a spread of task types - a prediction built on five reading questions tells you about reading, not about your overall score. The coverage figure on your dashboard shows how much of the bank you have sampled.
No. Everything stays in this application's own database and media folder. There is no third-party scoring service, no analytics tracker and no external API in the loop.
An overall score on the 10-90 scale, a score for each of the four modules, a question-by-question table with the mark and the time you spent on each item, your three strongest and three weakest questions, and a comparison against the target score in your profile.
Card payment in USD at checkout. Your plan unlocks the moment the order is confirmed, and you get an email receipt straight away. If a card is declined, message us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out with you.
First try a hard refresh, then a different browser - Chrome or Edge on desktop is the most reliable, especially for speaking tasks that need the microphone. If it still will not start, send us the test name and a screenshot on WhatsApp and we will check your account directly.
Mock test packs stay on your account for 12 months from the day you buy them. Unused tests are never removed before that, and buying a second pack simply adds to the balance you already have.
The most common causes are pace and silence. Speaking under about 120 words per minute, or leaving long gaps, both reduce the fluency mark even when the words are right. Open the result panel for the attempt - it shows your measured words per minute, your pause count and exactly which reference words you skipped.
Both live in Profile settings once you are logged in. Changing your password keeps you signed in on the device you are using. If you cannot get in at all, use the forgot-password link on the sign-in page.
Yes. Sign in on as many devices as you like - your attempts, scores and analytics follow the account, not the device. Practising on a phone works, but speaking tasks are far more reliable on a desktop browser.
Yes. Institute plans cover multiple learners under one account, with a shared question bank, per-learner analytics and a teacher view that ranks the class by task type. Message us through the support page and we will set it up.
